usually comprises a monthly fee, either flat or per user. If you are not using it yet and are interested, please contact us.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The MediaStore mobile app is a <strong>catalog discovery and screening tool<\/strong> purpose-built for mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones. It is fully integrated with the regular MediaStore browser-based application and is designed to serve two distinct cases:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Content buyers<\/strong> and other screening users can use the app as a portable window into your catalog. It provides all the key features of the regular MediaStore client-facing site while adding the option to download specific videos for offline screening. Local device storage is encrypted, meaning your content&#8217;s security is not compromised.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sales executives<\/strong> and other content presenters can, in addition to the features above, pre-compile selections of products and video assets using the regular MediaStore administrative site, and then synchronize these to their mobile device&#8217;s offline storage. This allows them to prepare larger content packages for presentations during markets and meetings where no reliable internet connection may be available. In addition, further features related to sales and presentations are available. <em>Any features available only to administrative site users are marked as &#8220;[Admins only]&#8221; in this user guide.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i class=\"fb-icon-element-2 fb-icon-element fontawesome-icon fa fa-hand-point-right circle-no fusion-text-flow\" style=\"--awb-iconcolor:#E3001B;--awb-iconcolor-hover:#E3001B;--awb-font-size:10px;--awb-margin-right:5px;\"><\/i>The MediaStore mobile app described here is a white-label version available for all of MediaStore&#8217;s clients. The following sections are available in this view:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Product interaction buttons<\/strong>: In the top right corner, you will find buttons to set the current product as a Favorite, as well recommend the current product (Admins only &#8211; see below).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Metadata:\u00a0<\/strong>By default, the <em>Details<\/em> tab will show all available product metadata, such as synopsis, duration and year of production.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Asset preview tabs<\/strong>: Next to <em>Details<\/em>, the tab navigation lets you navigate between different types of available assets. Tapping on any asset thumbnail will open it as a large preview, and, in case of a video, initiate video playback. Any videos assigned to subordinate products (e.g. on subordinate Seasons of the currently viewed Series) are shown in additional tabs. In all tabs displaying videos, you may tap the download icon to download the given video for offline screening. Here, you will find the following sections, many of which mirror functionality of the white-label MediaStore client site.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Recently Viewed<\/strong>: Your recently viewed products.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Favorites<\/strong>: Products you have marked as a Favorite, with the option to recommend selected ones.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Continue Watching<\/strong>: Products on which you have previously viewed a video, letting you pick up screening where you left off.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recommendations<\/strong>: Your received (<em>not<\/em> sent) product recommendations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Screening Room<\/strong>: Any screening conference groups you have access to (see <a href=\"\/?p=4309\">here<\/a> for more details on MediaStore&#8217;s screening conferences).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Profile<\/strong>: Your user account details.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Password<\/strong>: The option to change your user account&#8217;s password.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Settings<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>As long as <em>Download only via wifi or mobile wifi hotspot<\/em> is enabled, the app will not attempt to download videos into offline storage unless it is connected to a wireless network. This way, potentially costly downloads via mobile carrier are avoided.<\/li>\n<li>If you enable <em>Mirror entire app to second screen<\/em>, the app will simply be mirrored to any second screen you connect. This is contrary to its default mode, which only shows video on the connected screen.<\/li>\n<li><em>Show only parent products in Selections <\/em>is an option which visually slims down Selections of large groups of nested content by showing, for instance, only the Series even if multiple of its Seasons have also been synchronized.<\/li>\n<li>Toggle <em>Mode <\/em>to enable the app&#8217;s <em>Offline<\/em> mode. When either is active, the <em>Home <\/em>section will shown only synchronized content. To leverage the related functionality, please proceed as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cast an asset to an available screen<\/strong>: There are multiple options to share assets with external screens:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>HDMI cable<\/strong>: Connect the mobile device to an external screen via an HDMI cable and any required adapter.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wireless streaming to Apple TV<\/strong>:\n<ol>\n<li>Ensure that the iOS device running the MediaStore mobile app and the Apple TV device are close to one another.<\/li>\n<li>On the Apple TV device, open <em>Settings<\/em>, go to <em>AirPlay and HomeKit<\/em>, and set the <em>Allow Access<\/em> option to <em>Everyone<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>On the iOS device, open the system tray (swipe down from top right) and ensure that wireless networking and Bluetooth are enabled.<\/li>\n<li>To start sharing, again use the system tray on the iOS device to enable the <em>Screen Mirroring<\/em> option. Choose the Apple TV device as the mirroring destination.<\/li>\n<li>Use your iOS device to control the MediaStore mobile app and display images and videos. Everything will be broadcast to the screen connected to the Apple TV device.<\/li>\n<li>To stop streaming, return to the <em>Screen Mirroring<\/em> dialog on your iOS device and choose <em>Stop Broadcasting<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Note<\/strong>: wireless casting via AirPlay or Chromecast is <em>not<\/em> available by default due to MediaStore&#8217;s secured video streaming architecture. It is not available to clients.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Content, especially larger volumes, can optionally be pre-selected for synchronization to the MediaStore mobile app&#8217;s offline storage. <\/strong>This can be achieved through the MediaStore administrative site by using Groups, specifically any Groups you set up in <em>Groups<\/em> &gt; <em>Mobile App Sync<\/em>. In short, you can simply precompile larger selections of products (and their video assets); once these Mobile App Sync Groups are set up, you will find them within the mobile app and can synchronize their content through a single button tap only.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Create a Mobile App Sync Group<\/strong>: In the MediaStore administrative site, go to <em>Groups<\/em> &gt; <em>Mobile App Sync<\/em> section and click <em>Add New<\/em> to create a new Group. Regarding the Group&#8217;s access, you can:\n<ul>\n<li>set its access to <em>Private<\/em> in order to keep the group available <em>only<\/em> to yourself, or<\/li>\n<li>set its access to <em>Company<\/em> or above in order to make the group available to other admin users using the app as well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Select the products you&#8217;d like to synchronize<\/strong>: Add the required products to your Mobile App Sync Group. This can be achieved in exactly the same way as with regular Groups, i.e. you can add products from the <em>Products<\/em> section as well as through the <em>Add<\/em> dialog in the <em>Products<\/em> tab of a Mobile App Sync Group.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Select the video(s) to be synchronized<\/strong>: While you add Products to your Mobile App Sync Groups, you will be prompted to specifically select the video(s) you&#8217;d like to include. This will determine the videos to be synced to the iPad.<em><br \/>\n<\/em>Alternatively, after you have already added a product to a Mobile App Sync Group, you can always open the Group&#8217;s <em>Products<\/em> tab, tick the Product(s) for which you&#8217;d like to select videos, and then click <em>Actions<\/em> &gt; <em>Edit Video Sync<\/em> at the top in order to change the selection of included videos. Please note that this process should ideally only be performed for up to 25 products at a time (i.e. one page of the group&#8217;s <em>Products<\/em> tab), to avoid data limitations and timeouts in case the products have many videos assigned.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Synchronize the selected content to the MediaStore mobile app<\/strong>: Log into the mobile app as usual and open the section <em>Downloads<\/em> &gt; <em>Selections<\/em> section (ensuring that you are online). This will list all Mobile App Sync Groups which are currently available to you, i.e. your own Mobile App Sync Groups as well as any created by colleagues that have <em>Company<\/em> access or above. By tapping the &#8220;circular arrow&#8221; icon to the right of each Group, you can initiate the synchronization process.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wait for the synchronization process to finish<\/strong>: In the mobile app&#8217;s <em>Downloads &gt; Selections <\/em>section, next to each Mobile App Sync on which you have started the sync, you will see a progress indication. It is not available to clients.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <em>Settings<\/em> section of the MediaStore adminstrative site [available for users with the &#8220;Administrator&#8221; role only] offers the following options to customize the mobile app beyond the standard look and feel:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Define a custom logo<\/strong>: To upload a custom logo that will display in the top area of the app, go to <em>Settings<\/em> &gt; <em>Affiliation<\/em>, and select <em>Actions<\/em> &gt; <em>Upload Logo<\/em>. Bear in mind that the logo must have a black background color, or if you have defined a custom <em>Mobile App Background Color<\/em> (see point below), the same as that color.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Set a splash screen image<\/strong>: A splash screen image may optionally be defined (it could e.g. be a company logo or event-specific wallpaper). This can be displayed in case the mobile app is currently connected to a second screen, but no asset is currently selected for preview (see above, &#8220;Tools for content presentations&#8221;). To define this, use the MediaStore adminstrative site to navigate to <em>Settings<\/em> &gt; <em>Affiliation<\/em>, and select <em>Actions<\/em> &gt; <em>Upload Splash Screen<\/em> [available for users with the &#8220;Administrator&#8221; role only].
