Adding and managing Products: introduction<\/h3>\n

By creating and editing Products, you can add and update titles<\/strong> in your catalogue, as well as manage multiple metadata Layers<\/strong> per Product and create parent-child hierarchies<\/strong> such as Series-Season-Episode dependencies.<\/p>\n

Adding a new Product<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Go to Products<\/em>. <\/em><\/li>\n
  2. Click Add New.<\/em><\/li>\n
  3. In the entry wizard, select one of the following Product types Format, Program, Series, Season <\/em>or Episode.<\/em><\/li>\n
  4. Fill in the Product’s<\/em> details, taking note of the mandatory fields marked with *. Click Proceed<\/em> once the entry wizard is complete.<\/li>\n
  5. A new entry wizard will appear where you can optionally select to prefill in details from a metadata Layer on an existing Product. If there is no preexisting Layer from which you’d like to carry over the metadata, click Cancel<\/em>. Do not navigate outside this page until you have followed the remaining steps.<\/li>\n
  6. Fill in the Key Data<\/em> on the new Layer. For additional sections such as Cast, Crew, Language Versions, Audience Recommendations <\/em>and Awards, <\/em>you can use the Add<\/em> and Remove<\/em> button to manage multiple items.<\/li>\n
  7. At the final step, select Submit<\/em> to create the Product entry.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Adding a new Season or Episode to an entry<\/h3>\n

    If a parent entry such as a Series is already present, you can then add Seasons<\/em> or Episodes<\/em> by completing the following:<\/p>\n

    1. Go to Products<\/em>. <\/em><\/li>\n
    2. Click Add New.<\/em><\/li>\n
    3. In the entry wizard, select Product type Season <\/em>or Episode.<\/em><\/li>\n
    4. Fill in the Product’s<\/em> details. Make sure to select which Parent<\/em> entry and Sequence Number<\/em> (e.g. episode number) the Season<\/em> or Episode<\/em> should receive, then click Proceed<\/em> once the entry is complete.<\/li>\n
    5. A new entry wizard will appear where you can optionally select to prefill in details from a metadata Layer on an existing Product. If there is no preexisting Layer from which you’d like to carry over the metadata, click Cancel<\/em>. Do not navigate outside this page until you have followed the remaining steps.<\/li>\n

      Adding metadata Layers to a Product<\/h3>\n

      Additional metadata Layers can be added to a Product in order to manage different language versions of Product metadata or vendor-specific metadata sets.<\/p>\n

      1. Open an existing Product.<\/li>\n
      2. In the top right corner, click the current Layer designation (e.g. Standard – EN<\/em>). In the dropdown menu, select New Layer<\/em>.<\/li>\n
      3. Using Layer Type<\/em> and Language<\/em>, select the new Layer’s type and language, then click Proceed<\/em>.<\/li>\n
      4. Next, you will have the option of populating the new Layer with metadata from an existing Layer of the same type on another Product. If you’d like to do so, select a Source Product<\/em> and Source Layer<\/em> and click Prefill<\/em>, otherwise click Cancel<\/em>. You may only prefill metadata from an existing Layer of the same Layer type as the Layer you are creating.<\/li>\n
      5. Fill in the Key Data<\/em> on the new Layer. For additional sections such as Cast, Crew, Language Versions, Audience Recommendations <\/em>and Awards, <\/em>you can use the Add<\/em> and Remove<\/em> button to manage multiple items.<\/li>\n
      6. At the final step, select Submit<\/em> to add the Layer to the Product.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        You will be able to toggle between existing Layers by using the Layer designation button in the top right corner.<\/p>\n

        Using Actions<\/em> to manage Products<\/h3>\n

        In the Products<\/em> list view, Actions can either be applied to individual Products by using the Actions<\/em> column, or to multiple entries by ticking the boxes directly next to individual titles and then selecting Actions<\/em> > Selected items<\/em>. In addition, certain Actions can be applied to all listed products (regardless of pagination) by using Actions<\/em> > All items (of all pages)<\/em>. Finally, Actions can also be applied via the Product detail view’s Actions<\/em> button (top right).<\/p>\n

        <\/i>Please note, if you have selected more than one Product, the Action<\/em> you select will apply to all selected titles.<\/p>\n
