{"id":3401,"date":"2016-08-02T11:01:24","date_gmt":"2016-08-02T11:01:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mediastoresupport.live-website.com\/?p=3401"},"modified":"2019-07-09T10:55:29","modified_gmt":"2019-07-09T10:55:29","slug":"groups-introduction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mediastore.support\/?p=3401","title":{"rendered":"Groups: introduction"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Groups: introduction<\/h3>\n<p>By using Groups, you can <strong>compile Products and Assets<\/strong> for specific purposes, such as package offers or deliveries.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, you can also use Groups to <strong>grant Users privileged access to a Product or Asset<\/strong> they normally would not be able to access.<\/p>\n<p><i class=\"fb-icon-element-1 fb-icon-element fontawesome-icon fa fa-play circle-no fusion-text-flow\" style=\"--awb-iconcolor:#E3001B;--awb-iconcolor-hover:#E3001B;--awb-font-size:10px;--awb-margin-right:5px;\"><\/i>For example, let&#8217;s say there is an exclusive new full-length screener which you&#8217;d like to make available to certain key buyers only. After uploading the screener as a <em>Private<\/em> or <em>Company<\/em> asset, you can create a Group including all your key buyers&#8217; User accounts, and then add the screener to the Group with a higher Group-specific access level of <em>Viewable<\/em>. In consequence, the screener will still be unavailable to buyers in general while the key buyer Group will be able to screen it.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, you can use the <a href=\"\/?p=3351\"><strong>Group Recommendation<\/strong><\/a> function to send someone a preview or download link for all Products and Assets in a Group, the former option also comprising any streaming videos you&#8217;d like to include.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Groups also serve other purposes such as <a href=\"\/?p=3388\"><strong>defining titles for slideshows in your client site<\/strong><\/a> or selections of content for sync with our <strong><a href=\"\/?page_id=2822#marketing\">iPad application<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Primary group types<\/h3>\n<p>Navigate to <em>Groups<\/em> in order to find the Group types available on your platform. Depending on your platform and user account, you will find some or all of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>General<\/strong>: General-purpose groups to be used for most of your purposes, including providing privileged access to certain items for certain clients.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contacts<\/strong>: Contact lists that may be useful e.g. to address Recommendations to an entire set of users in one go. Only permits Users &#8211; no other objects can be added.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recommendations<\/strong>: These groups are automatically compiled whenever you send a Recommendation and define the associated access rights. These do <em>not<\/em> usually need to be reviewed or edited manually.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mobile App Sync<\/strong>: Lets you compile content for sync with the iPad application. Will only appear if your user account is enabled for app use.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Special Purpose<\/strong>: These groups relate to content management and typically define products shown in slideshows in your client site or contacts shown on your contact page. Individual group titles should self-evidently indicate their purpose.<\/li>\n<li>Additional group types may be shown but will not necessarily be relevant to your implementation of the MediaStore platform.
