To ensure optimal streaming quality, MediaStore recommends the following video and audio specifications when uploading content.
These specifications will allow the platform to generate high-quality screening proxies while retaining your original files.

Video:

  • Codec: H.264 (AVC, MPEG-4 Layer 10); H.265 (HEVC) supported for 4K workflows

  • Resolution: 1920 × 1080 (HD) or 3840 × 2160 (4K)

  • Framerate: 24p / 25p / 30p (depending on source format: NTSC or PAL)

  • Bitrate:

    • HD: 5–15 Mbit/s (use the higher end for optimal quality)

    • 4K: 10–30 Mbit/s (use the higher end for optimal quality)

  • Encoding: 2-pass encoding recommended

  • Container format: MP4 preferred

Audio:

  • Codec: AAC

  • Bitrate: 256 kbit/s

  • Sample rate: 48 kHz

Additional Notes:

  • MediaStore accepts most video and audio formats, but optimal quality streaming is achieved by following these specifications.

  • Uploaded files are retained and downloadable in their original quality, while the platform generates a screening-quality proxy for online playback.

  • Files with lower specifications will still play but may appear compressed; files with higher specifications will be downscaled for streaming.
