A source language must be defined first to enable automated subtitle generation: see Define Source Language.
To upload an existing subtitle file, see Upload Subtitles.
To generate subtitles with a pre-defined source language, follow the steps below.
- In the navigation sidebar, go to Assets > All Assets
- Scroll, search or filter to find the relevant video asset
- Click the three-dot settings menu to the right of the asset name
- Select Generate subtitles
- Select the original audio track from the drop-down menu in the Source Asset field
- Select one or more languages for translation in the Target Languages field
- Select a service for original language subtitles in the Transcription Service field1
- Select a service for target language subtitles in the Translation Service field1
Optional:
- Enable Show in player to include subtitles in the video player; disable to generate as sub-asset files only.
- Click Generate to finish
The system will then begin process the request, and you’ll be notified by email once your subtitles are ready.
1 If the selected service doesn’t support the original or target language, a notification will prompt you to choose a different service.
